Next week we'll be finishing the letter C, the color red and the numbers 1, 2 and 3. We'll be finishing our happy home theme by having Fun Fort Friday, where the kids will be building homes with boxes and other items from around our play space!
We have had a busy week learning about all the different kinds of homes people and animals live it. We also had some fall fun and talked about some of the changes we're already starting to see with the changing season. We've seen squirrels burying acorns and we've started to see geese flying overhead. We're still finding lots of red things and the kids are doing a great job recognizing the letters A and B.

We had a busy week finishing our first theme of the month, I Am Special! With this theme we learned how everyone was created unique by God and we are exactly how He wanted us to be. We spent time admiring the special talents and traits each of our friends has. We talked about being a great friend, even to those who are different than us. We finished up with the letters A and B. We used circles to make art and used our bodies to make circles. We were rained out a few times this week so we broke out some new indoor activities the kids had a blast with.
Next week we will be introducing the letter C. Working on our new theme, which is all about different homes people and animals live in, and we will be celebrating the first day of Autumn! We're celebrating Easter today and talking about how much God and Jesus love us. We made bunny bags in art and decorated eggs. We spent lots of time outdoors this morning and we'll be having our annual Easter egg hunt outside this afternoon! The kids are so excited!

It's cloudy and wet but that didn't stop us from spending lots of time outside this morning! We brought out some new sand toys and looked around for signs of spring. We're beginning to see buds on our trees and flowers in the neighbor's garden. We made spring flower pictures in art and baked banana bread.
We finally finished up with our March curriculum today! We did a letter U worksheet and made floatation devices in art. We talked about water and boating safety and got to spend lots of time outdoors this morning!
The temperatures have definitely cooled off but we were still able to spend an hour outdoors this morning. We finished up the letter S today and did a letter S worksheet. We found lots of letter S words and froze colored ice cubes to use for art tomorrow. We also made some new play dough! We made blue (our color this month) and used blue and red to make purple.
We are almost through our first theme of the month, Wacky Week, which is taking us longer than a week to complete due to our imaginary trip to Ireland over the course of last week and our St. Patrick's Day party on Friday.
We made wacky people in art today and finished up a project from last week. We got to spend over an hour outside today soaking up the sun and fresh air! I've posted the menu for the week so you can have a look at that when you have time. ***Thursday is our Costume Pizza Party! Your child may bring a costume from home if they like, or they can just use ours. What a beautiful day! We got to spend a good amount of time outdoors in the sunshine and the kids actually got a little warm in their full winter gear. They are extra muddy since there's lots of mud and puddles as the snow melts. We are continuing our discussion on living a healthy lifestyle. We made happy body necklaces in art today. We hung some new words on our word wall and introduced the letter. Q.
Healthy teeth are an important part of living a healthy life so we talked today about keeping our teeth clean and strong. We used glue to pain a shiny enamel on teeth in art and the kids learned that everything we eat, leaves traces on our teeth that need to be brushed off or we could develop cavities. We got to spend some time outside this morning and finished up the letter P.
