We've got some new art and craft supplies so we went through all of our old crayons, markers, glue and other art material. The kids did a great job sorting and organizing. They love being my "big helpers"! We finished up our farm theme today and did a recap on all the animals we learned about. We colored a farm picture in art and played with our play dough for a while.

What a beautiful day we get to enjoy! The kids played outside for quite a while before the mosquitos came out. We finished our thumbprint farm pictures in art and the kids are using our magna tiles to build farm structures for our new farm animals. We baked some apple fritters we'll have for breakfast in the morning.
With our time outside increasing our time for curriculum is decreasing. The kids are still very interested in our farm theme so we're going to keep that going through the end of the week. Today we started some thumbprint animal farms in art and finished the sheep we started yesterday. We spent most of our time outside today and the kids went home extra dirty with all the mud/water in our outdoor play space. We have been tracking the progress on some of our plants. We noticed today our berry bushes have blossoms and we can see little apple buds on our apple tree!
The kids will now be using sunblock every day and bug spray on the days our mosquitos are hungry so they may be extra slimy at pickup! They're having a great time though! Welcome back from the long weekend! The kids are excited to see their friends today and have been playing really well together. We are stuck inside so we're doing some fun indoor activities. The kids are playing some of the silly games we've learned over the last couple months such as London Bridges, crab racing and lobster tag. We started making sheep in art today and learned about how sheep help people. We learned how farmers sheer sheep and all the different things that wool can be used to make.
I've posted the menu for the week so you can have a look at that when you have time. Today we're learning about horses! We learned some fun horse songs/rhymes in circle time and collected sticks outside that we will use on Monday to make stick horses! We spent lots of time outside today soaking up the sun!
It's a rainy day so we're doing some baking inside! We baked apple fritters for breakfast and baked muffins later in the morning. We're learning about some of the other animals typically found on a farm and we learned some fun facts about pigs today! We played a pigs in a blanket game and painted pink pigs in art.
Today we're learning about all the chores farmers must do each day. It's a hard job but a very important one. The kids learned how nearly everything we eat starts at a farm. We used rubber gloves filled with water to pretend milking cows which the kids had a blast with! We also looked through the fridge and identified lots of different foods that are made with cows milk! It was a beautiful day and we got to spend lots of time outside.
Today the kids are having a blast with our new farm set. They've used our magna tiles to build barns and sheds and farmhouses to go with the animals. We made farm books in art and learned some more fun facts about cows in circle time.
We started our new theme today, Down on the Farm! We will be learning all about the animals that live on a farm and what it's like to be a farmer. We started our learning about cows today. We made cows with udders to hang on our bulletin board and learned some fun facts about cows. We stayed inside today because it was cold and wet.
I've posted the menu for the week so you can have a look at that when you have time. We're working hard to finish our special gifts for someone extra special today! I love watching the kids get excited to give gifts. Their hearts really shine through on these special occasions. We also baked some cookies for snack!
