I have posted the menu for the week so you can look at that when you have time.
Today we have a full house again. We are kicking off our camping week and using our teamwork to set up the tent for the kids to play in. We are also making binoculars with paper towel rolls and paint.

Today was a very quiet day with just two little ones in the morning and one in the afternoon. We had a very laid back day and colored with our new markers and used our new watercolor paints. We played outside and built sand castles now that we had some wet sand to do it with.
Today is our big carnival game day. We have tickets we have earned and lots of games including the cake walk. We baked cupcakes today and along with the cookies we baked yesterday we have treats the kids can win.
We also have a birthday today! Sutton turns five and we celebrated his birthday with cupcakes and a party this afternoon. Happy birthday Sutton! Today we painted pink cotton candy to hang on our bullletin board. We also decorated some home made tickets that the kids are earning with good behavior. These tickets will be exchanged for games tomorrow on our game day.
Today we started our carnival theme and the kids are having a blast with it. We made up some carnival games that we played all morning. We talked about what our favorite things to do at a carnival are and almost all the kids agreed that the cake walk was their favorite. They have decided that we need to have one so we have added that to our list of things to do this week.
We are playing cowboys and indians today since not everyone was here to play Friday. We are finishing up that theme and this week our theme is Carnival! Today we are brainstorming what games we would like to play.
I have posted the menu for the week so you can check that out whenever you like. We had a quiet day today so we played outside a lot and rode bikes in the front. We used our cowboy hats, indian hats and horses and played a good old fashioned game of cowboys and indians. We baked muffins and had a picnic lunch outside.
Today we used our jumpropes and turned them into lassos! We took turns being horses and cowboys and the cowboys tried to lasso the horses. It's much more tricky than we thought! We found sticks and made horses out of the sticks to ride around during our cowboy games.
Today we started taling about cowboys. We practiced herding animals from one place to another in the backyard and we made cowboy hats. We also learned how cowboys slept around campfires and we pretended to build a campfire in the middle of our circle at circle time.
Today we talked about native americans and how they made clothing and lived off the land. We made headbands with feathers. We also baked cupcakes today and played in the sprinkler.
Please double check and make sure your child has a full change of clothes in their locker. If you happen to have an extra swimming suit laying around it would be nice to have that here too. With this heat, the kids really enjoy playing in the sprinkler and using the squirt bottles and if they have a spare set of clothes I can change them into dry ones before they go home. |
