Today we played catch up with the curriculum. With so many vacations taking place this summer we have fallen behind so we are trying to go over as much as possible. We reviewed the letter M today and searched for M words. We did a couple of worksheets and a camera art project. We talked about the different places people might vacation and the different ways people go on vacation (car, bus, plane).
Just a quick reminder that we are closed Thursday and Friday this week. Well the skies are dark and it has been raining off and on for the last half of the morning so we are all kind of bummed to have to stay inside. We finished our telescopes and did some coloring, puzzles and dancing. We are praying for sunny skies this afternoon so we can play outside.
Just a reminder that we are closed on Monday and Tuesday next week. We will be back o It's our big pirate treasure hunt day. The kids made their treasure maps and started their telescopes but I don't think those are going to be done in time today. Treasure is hid in the sandbox and now we are just waiting for nap time to be over and a hunting we will go!
We tried our blackberries that we picked yesterday and only a couple of the kids liked them. They made some sour faces but most of them still tried! We baked muffins for breakfast and had spaghetti for lunch so between the markers, the spaghetti, the berries and the paint, I will be scrubbing my kitchen for the remainder of the nap time =) We have visitors today! Gannon and Hudson, who have graduated from Jen's house and moved on to school are here to visit for the day and the kids are LOVING having the older boys here. We are reviewing letters E - H this week and the kids did a practice worksheet. We also did a waterfall art project that can go home today. After that we spent the rest of the morning outside enjoying this beautiful weather. The kids had a great game of kickball going and were nice and tired by the time we came in for lunch today.
The kids have had a fun time today learning about the meaning behind our 4th of July celebrations. We are learning the pledge of allegiance and we made sparkly firework displays for our bulletin board. We also worked on an enrichment sheet where the kids practiced their scissor skills. We baked banana bread for breakfast and the kids ate 1 1/2 loaves! That's a lot of banana bread for
With the wet conditions outside we have not been out yet today. Hopefully we can make it out this afternoon, if not we will be making our telescopes for our priate treasure hunt on Thursday. It was a quiet day today with just Tyler. We did some special one on one activities and spent the rest of the day playing outside. With how hot it has been lately I have been taking extra care to make sure the kids stay hydrated. We broke out the gaterade yesterday and came inside for lots of cool down breaks. It is Pirate Week this week and we will be having a treasure hunt on Thursday. Today we made Uncle Sam hats and started talking about the 4th of July and what it means to our country. Then we packed a picnic lunch and spent the rest of the morning at the park. The kids were exhausted from the heat and slept like rocks at nap time.
We finally finished up with our June curriculum and switched over to July. We Made fruit bookmarks and reviewed our colors today along with a worksheet. We put up our July calendar and played outside. The bugs have been really bad the past few days so we will be using bug spray. I use the Off Skintastic or Off Family bug spray so if your child has ever had a reaction to this, let me know what kind you use and I will switch to that brand.
Tomorrow we will be walking to the park Please make sure your child wears closed toe tenni The kids sure do miss each other when they are away from each other. They have been playing so well together today and you can tell they are so happy to see each other.
We are playing catch up. We are still finishing our fruit theme and made a strawberry art project and a watermellon art project. We will be finishing up with this theme tomorrow which will complete our June curriculum and then we will dive into our July curriculum. We also did a worksheet today and are playing outside before we head down for nap. I have updated the menu for the week. |
